Javier Olivera

    • Javier Olivera is a research scientist at the Luxembourg Institute of Socio-Economic Research (LISER), full professor of economics at Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru (PUCP), and a Netspar fellow. For 2024-2025, he is appointed to the National Bank of Belgium. His research interests include public economics, inequality, pensions, intergenerational transfers, ageing, and redistributive preferences. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from KU Leuven and a MSc in economics from the University of Essex. Previously, he taught at the University of Luxembourg, University College Dublin, KU Leuven, and UC Louvain. He also worked for the financial regulator and the ministry of economy of Peru, and was a consultant for IDB, World Bank, UNFPA, ECLAC, Peru’s government, among others.
