Iván Mejía

Ivan Mejia

    • ván Mejía Guevara is a Consultant and Researcher at the Global Network of National Transfer Accounts (CNT). He served as a Senior Research Fellow in the Department of Medicine at Stanford University (2016-2024). Previously, he worked as a Research Associate at Harvard University School of Public Health (2012-2016) and in the Department of Demography at University of California, Berkeley (2011-212). He holds a Ph.D. in computer science from the National Autonomous University of Mexico -graduated with Honorable Mention in 2008-, a postdoctoral fellowship in demographic economics at the Department of Demography of the University of California, Berkeley (2010), and a master’s degree in economics from El Colegio de México. He participated as a member of the Nominating Committee of the countries of the Americas in the National Transfer Accounts (NTA) network (2020-2022), as secretary of the NTA Executive Committee (2018-2020) and is also the leader of the Mexico NTA project. He has also served as an independent consultant and researcher in CELADE - Population Division of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC), UN-DESA, the United Nations Population Fund of Guatemala and Paraguay and for the National Population Council (CONAPO) of Mexico, in charge of several NTA projects for Mexico, Guatemala and Paraguay. Dr. Mejía has published more than 50 articles on population and health issues in internationally recognized journals and books.

Isalia Nava

Isalia Nava

    • Isalia Nava Bolaños is a researcher at the Economic Research Institute of the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). She holds a bachelor’s degree in economics, a master’s degree in demography, and a Ph.D. in population studies from El Colegio de México. In 2012, she was awarded first place in the Gustavo Cabrera Acevedo Award by El Colegio de México for her research in population studies. She also received the National University Distinction for Young Academics in 2017, recognizing her contributions to research in economic-administrative sciences. She also is a Level I member of the National System of Researchers. Her research focus on several key areas, including demography and economics, the economic impact of population change, economics and population aging, and gender and economics.

Estela Rivero

    • María Estela Rivero Fuentes is a senior Researcher and Co-Director of the Central America Research Alliance at the Pulte Institute of the University of Notre Dame. She is the Monitoring, Evaluation, Learning, and Knowledge Management Director for the USAID-funded Supporting Holistic and Actionable Research in Education (SHARE) program. She also has over 20 years of experience evaluating social programs in Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean; analyzing and collecting data; and conducting research on gender, migration, youth, and violence issues.
