B. Piedad Urdinola
- Piedad Urdinola is an economist from Universidad de Los Andes and holds a master's degree in economics from the same institution. She also holds a Ph.D. in demography and population studies from the University of California-Berkeley. She currently serves as Director of the National Administrative Department of Statistics (DANE) of Colombia. She also directs the Colombia chapter of the international project National Transfer Accounts (www.ntaccounts.org) and is an associate professor in the Department of Statistics at the Universidad Nacional de Colombia-Bogotá. Previously, she was Director of the Demographic and Epidemiological Observatory of the Andean Area-ODEAN, co-Director of the Human Mortality Base for Latin America (www.lamortalidad.org), and a researcher at Fedesarrollo
Jorge Tovar
- Jorge Tovar is an economist from the Universidad de Los Andes. He also holds a master’s degree in economics from the same University, and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of California at Berkeley. Jorge Tovar is an Associate Professor at the Economics Department of the Universidad de Los Andes since 2009. His fields of interest focus on international trade, industrial organization, sports economics, development economics, economic history, and applied econometrics.
